Cynefin Framework

The Cynefin Framework is a conceptual framework for decision making. The framework was created in 1999 by David Snowden of IBM Global Services to help IBM to manage intellectual capital.

This YouTube video, A simple explanation of the Cynefin Framework, provides an excellent quick overview in about 4 minutes. This Harvard Business Review Article, A Leader's Framework for Decision Making, adds a lot of useful detail.  This is the best video.

There are all sorts of ways to represent and use this decision making framework. There are many Cynefin-like cross-maps.

I could go on and on here.  If you want additional information you might want to start with The Cynfin Centre.

More is certainly to come.
